The goal of this course is to equip you, the sailor, with enhanced skills & awareness of the surrounding environment.

This course course is for those who can competently sail around a triangular course without assistance.

Seamanship teaches the successful sailor to apply knowledge of the fundamental boat controls to manoeuvre the dinghy efficiently in light to moderate conditions on all points of sailing.

Seamanship Skills offers emphasis on better techniques all round resulting in the sailor mastering the skills & gain complete confidence to handle all conditions without guidance. The sailor learns new boat handling techniques for manoeuvres such as coming along side, man overboard, sailing backwards, sailing without a centreboard, anchoring, launching and landing on a windward or lee shore

Theory covers navigation, meteorology and the knowledge of tides and is taken to the next level to allow basic passage planning.
